Student Pathways International is a program intended to assist high school graduates with entry into Canadian Universities and Colleges while providing them with a pathway to permanent residence in Canada. The quality of education in Canada is one of the major factors in attracting foreign students, with academic standards that provide a foundation for long-term success. The low cost of attending universities in Canada also provides a unique advantage. You will find that the general cost of tuition is significantly less than most major countries.
With campuses wired with the latest in sophisticated technology and modern amenities, Canada is also a fun place to study. From Olympic-quality sports facilities to public concert halls and art galleries, Canda’s post-secondary campuses offer enormous possibilities for learning and leisure. The international student advisors at our colleges and universities will also help you get in touch with the numerous ethnic clubs and associations available during your stay.
Live in Canada
There are also major long-term benefits to studying in Canada. One major benefit is the ability to get points for Permanent Residency (PR) for graduating from a Canadian university of college. PR is a status given to non-Canadian citizens who have legally immigrated to Canada, and it allows non-Canadian citizens to work and live in Canada without limitations.
Conditional Letter of Acceptance (CLOA)
SMG is now offering our international students the ability to add a CLOA (Conditional Letter of Acceptance) to all 11th and 12th grade J-1 and F-1 high school programs.
- The CLOA will allow the student the security of knowing that they will be admitted to our Canadian College and University institutions upon graduation from their high school program.
- Students and parents will have the choice of selecting from 5 of our closest Canadian College and University partners.
- The cost of the CLOA is $2K USD will be added to the cost of any J-1 or F-1 high school program.
Some of our College/University partners will allow students to obtain the Conditional Letter of Acceptance (CLOA) without having to take the TOEFL or IELTS test (others will require students to take one of the following assessments).
ASSESSMENT CRITERIA:
- TOEFL - Paper: 500, Computer: 173, iBT: 79 minimum: 20 Writing, 20 Speaking
- IELTS (Academic) - 6.0 overall, No individual band under 5.5
- CAEL - 60 - No band under 50
